   About Honey Valley

Honey Valley New Zealand Limited was established in 1995 to cater to specific client needs within the Honey industry, internationally and within New Zealand. It is a family business and wishes to encourage customers to form long lasting business relationships.

In early 1997 Honey Valley constructed a new honey packing plant which is maintained as one of the most modern and up to date honey processing plants of its type in New Zealand. Along with being very modern, the factory is also approved to process “Certified Organic Honey” under the Agri Quality Organic Standard and operates an approved Risk Management Plan based on the application of HACCP Principles.

Honey Valley New Zealand is a member of the Active Manuka Honey Association and a licenced UMF Manuka packer. UMF licence number: 1037.

Steve Lyttle-Managing Director

Steve commenced in the Beekeeping industry in 1968 establishing a Company (Lyttle’s Honey Farming Limited) with his brother Peter.  Lyttle’s Honey Farming Limited grew to become one of the largest and most efficient beekeeping enterprises in the region. In 1986 they expanded their business with the acquisition of New Zealand’s largest beeswax processing plant. 

 

This association continued until mid 1995 at which time he and his partner, Carolyn Ball, establish their own honey processing and packing business.  

 

Steve continues to play an active roll in Honey industry affairs and is presently a member of the Bee Products Standards Council (liaising with Government on regulations that relate to honey and bee products).  He is also on the executive of the Honey Industries packers and Exporters Association.

After many years in office management and marketing roles Carolyn now brings administration, organizational and additional marketing skills to Honey Valley New Zealand Limited. 

 

She was employed by a manufacturing company overseeing New Zealand Sales, this included co-ordinating sales reps, servicing and expanding existing markets.

 

Her most recent employment, with a internationally recognized food processor, allowed her to develop new skills in the area of Export Documentation and ISO (International Standards Organisation) implementation and auditing.

 

Carolyn plays a pivotal roll with Honey Valley controlling the financial, export and administration affairs of Honey Valley.
